SEA ISLE BEACH FILL FINISHED; DREDGE MOVES TO AVALON

Avalon_beach_fill_at_9th_StreetA major beach fill project being conducted in Avalon and Sea Isle City is halfway done.  According to an Avalon press release, Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company has finished pumping sand onto the beaches in Sea Isle City, and the dredge is being moved to Avalon Monday morning to continue with a major beach project there.  Avalon will receive 600,000 cubic yards of sand onto its beaches from 9th Street south to 26th Street.  The dredge “Illinois” was being moved in place this morning after some fog lifted.  The same company will conduct another beach fill in the region later this month in North Wildwood.
