The state’s highest ranking education official thinks some students shouldbe in class longer and for more days. At a hearing Monday, Schundler noted that the charter school system had students already back in classes and thinks it is a benefit to them. Schundler did not say any specific legislation would be proposed to make a change, but would like to look into whether or not there are legal barriers so districts could take a look at extending time spent in school when negotiating with the union.
