SCHOOL ELECTIONS MAY MOVE TO NOVEMBER

Your local community may soon have the ability to move school board elections to the general election date in November.  The New Jersey Assembly passed a measure on Thursday that would give local towns the power to move school board elections from the spring to November.  Sponsors of the bill say the move would increase participation and interest in school board elections.  Elected officials could mandate the move, and so could the public with a petition with 15 percent of the town’s signatures on it.
