SCHOOL BUDGET TAX INCREASE REDUCED IN HALF

The Upper Township Committee cut about a half of the proposed tax increase for the school budget in the township. Voters shot down the proposal that would have increased the tax rate by 4.5 cents. The change brings the tax increase to 2.5 cents. The Board of Education must now determine how to make those cuts; the governing body only determines the overall tax increase, not where the cuts must come from.
