RUTGERS BOOTS QUARTERBACK FROM THE TEAM FOR FIGHTING

Rutgers,_The_State_University_of_New_Jersey_logoPhillip Nelson is no longer a quarterback on the Rutgers University football roster.  Rutgers officials announced today that Nelson was kicked off the team for allegedly assaulting a football player in Minnesota.  Nelson played football last season for the University of Minnesota but since transferred to Rutgers.  He has been charged with two counts of felony assault in connection with the incident.
