ROADWORK BEING PERFORMED ON ROUTE 40 IN ATLANTIC COUNTY

200px-NJDOT_svgThe New Jersey Department of Transportation is performing resurfacing and roadway repair project on Route 40 in Hamilton Township, Egg Harbor Township and Pleasantville City in Atlantic County.

Asphalt sections of Route 40 will be milled and repaved in both directions over approximately 4.5 miles of the roadway at different locations between milepost 43.6 and milepost 59.7. NJDOT will also repair and upgrade the existing curbing and sidewalks within the project areas and install new image detection cameras at certain intersections.

The NJDOT will begin milling and repaving during overnight hours. Temporary nighttime lane closures will take effect week nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning and weekend nights between 8 p.m. and 9 a.m. the following morning. NJDOT is confining the repaving work to overnight hours to minimize impact to motorists. In the locations where Route 40 carries one lane of traffic in each direction, alternating traffic patterns will be used overnight.

This $4.5 million project will be completed in late-November.
