REPORT: WILDWOOD SCHOOL BUDGET INCLUDES LARGE TAX HIKE

A large tax hike is looming for the Wildwood School District.  The Wildwood Leader reported over the weekend that the school board approved a new budget last week that includes an eight cent increase in the school tax rate.  School officials say a drop in Wildwood’s ratables and a reduction in state aid are to blame.  Under the proposed budget, the tax rate will increase to 74.3 cents; there are no layoffs in this year’s budget.
