REPORT: UP TO 55 PEOPLE COULD BE LAYED OFF IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

A large lay off could be coming to Cumberland County. The News of Cumberland County reports up to 55 people could be let go as the county tries to deal with a $4 to $8 million budget gap. Budget numbers were present to the public that included anywhere from a 1.5 to 2 cent increase to the local tax rate. The report says that the Freeholder Director Lou Magazzu said that the county should lay the ground work for the potential lay off, though he is not saying that it has to happen. He simply wants the availability there in case they need to move in that direction.
