REPORT: SUPER BOWL SECURITY COSTS CROSS $5 MILLION

A new report says ensuring the safety at Super Bowl 48 was an expensive task. Security for the event totaled over $5 million, according to the Star-Ledger. The newspaper reports that taxpayers will only end up paying about $1.35 million because of grants and other dollars meant to cover some expenses. The security for this event was as tight as any, because of the Super Bowl’s proximity to New York City.
