A New Jersey state trooper shot a pit bull dog on Tuesday evening. The Press of Atlantic City reports that a trooper shot the dog in self defense Tuesday at 6pm on Jefferson Avenue. Police were attempting to serve a warrant when the owner let the dog out of the house. The dog charged at the trooper and the officer fired one shot and struck the animal.
