REPORT: SEA ISLE TAKING RESIDENTS TO COURT

Sea Isle City is taking nearly 200 people to court because they have not complied with flood standards established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that 193 homeowners have been flagged by the city for non-conformance.  FEMA officials say Sea Isle City has been very proactive in cracking down on homeowners who do not comply with the federal standards.  Four New Jersey beach counties get the top level of 20 percent savings on flood insurance premiums due to compliance; only Avalon achieves that mark in our region.
