REPORT: RESORTS FACING POTENTIAL OF HAVING TO CLOSE

A new owner may be needed to keep Resorts open. The Press of Atlantic City reports the casino has a “severe cash shortfall,” and may need to shut down while it seeks a new owner. A company spokesman told the paper that the casino is in no danger of closing. The New Jersey Casino Control Commission released that the casino suffered an $18 million gross operating loss in 2009. Resorts was the first ever casino opened in the resort.
