REPORT: PUBLIC EMPLOYEES MAY RETIRE BEFORE CHRISTIE PENSION PLAN

gov_christieA slew of public employees may be retiring soon thanks to pension reforms prepared by Governor Chris Christie.  The Star Ledger reports that nearly 12,000 employees are scheduled to retire by the end of this month, which could represent a nine percent spike due to proposed changes in the pension system.  The system is currently facing about $40 billion in unfunded liabilities, and Christie wants to clean up the mess before he leaves office.
