REPORT: OCEAN CITY PROPOSES MAJOR CUT TO HISTORIC DISTRICT

Ocean City is proposing a 40 percent reduction in its historical district. The Press of Atlantic City reports that a subcommittee of City Council has decided to potentially cut the district which angered members of the Historic Preservation Commission. Commissioner Ken Cooper calls the move quote “insane” and amounts to spot zoning. Council insists this measure is in the discussion stage only.
