REPORT: LOWER DUNE HEIGHT TO BE CONSIDERED IN ATLANTIC CITY

The Department of Environmental Protection is going to consider allowing the dune height to be lowered in Atlantic City. The Press of Atlantic City reports that a meeting took place on Thursday and the state agency agreed to take a look at potentially allowing the height to be taken down. Some business owners and area guests have made the request because the water is not clearly visible with the dunes as high as they have grown. Environmental groups say they provide shore protection and shouldn’t be removed.
