REPORT: LAND TO BE PRESERVED IN MIDDLE TOWNSHIP

More than 140 acres of privately owned wetlands in Middle Township will be preserved thanks to some federal funding.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that the wetlands are located near the Cape May National Wildlife Refuge and will be purchased by the state for conservation.  The United States Fish and Wildlife Service announced that $1 million in grant funding will be forwarded to the $2.2 million purchase price.  This preservation program is part of a nearly $7 million for preservation in six East Coast states.
