REPORT: FORMER UPPER TWP. MAYOR ADMITS TO EMBEZZLEMENT

Former Upper Township mayor Andrew McCrosson admitted today that he embezzled nearly a half million dollars from the campaign coffers belonging to Congressman Frank LoBiondo.  The website for the Press of Atlantic City reports that McCrosson wrote unauthorized checks to himself  beginning in 1995, and continued to do so through 2010, when he was replaced as treasurer of LoBiondo’s campaign.  McCrosson has pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud, and remains free on bail.  He will be sentenced in June.
