REPORT: DISPUTE OVER EVENT DATES BREWING IN STONE HARBOR

Stone Harbor photo 1Members of the Stone Harbor Garden Club appeared at the Stone Harbor Council meeting Tuesday afternoon to express their displeasure over a conflict of dates involving its popular plant sale and the popular “Sail Into Summer” weekend event. The Cape May County Herald reports that members were upset to learn that the “Sail Into Summer” weekend would be held on Mother’s Day Weekend, the same weekend for the Garden Club event. Club president Karen Lane told council that moving the Garden Club event to the firehouse would really reduce the sale of plants. Mayor Suzanne Walters complimented the club for all of its fine work in the Borough, but said no decision on the conflict of dates would be resolved during the council meeting.
