REPORT: CAPE MAY COULD CONSIDER AMBULANCE MILEAGE FEE

capemaycity_logo_bluefilled196x155A report in today’s Press of Atlantic City suggests that the city of Cape May could be charging an ambulance mileage fee in order to generate revenue next year.  Cape May currently charges $500 for an ambulance ride; the mileage fee could tack on about $100 to that total.  Mayor Ed Mahaney told The Press that he is concerned that some people may not call for an ambulance now that the ride could be more expensive.  It’s possible Cape May’s council could introduce the new measure during it’s next December meeting with final approval possible at the January 12th council meeting.
