A popular candy maker at the Jersey Shore has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The Press of Atlantic City reports that James Candy Company, which makes Fralinger’s Salt Water Taffy, has filed for the protection. The company cites a very wet season at the shore for declining revenues. The family that operates the company has 11 retail outlets, including in Wildwood, Cape May, and Ocean City.
