REPORT: ANOTHER MAJOR BEACH PROJECT ARRIVES IN THE FALL

This time it’s Sea Isle City and Upper Township joining forces for a major beach fill project.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that both communities will each borrow about $4.5 million to pay for their portion of the project; both communities also expect a 75 percent reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA.  The state has asked for bids on the project last week, and they are due sometime in August.  Recently, Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company has been conducting much of the beach fill work in Cape May County, including a recent project in Avalon and Stone Harbor.
