REPORT: AIR TRAN FLYING OUT OF ATLANTIC CITY

Air Tran Airways is flying out of Atlantic City and it’s not coming back.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that Air Tran announced that it will leave Atlantic City International Airport in January of 2012 and discontinue service to South Jersey.  Air Tran has been subsidized by the airport, but since that agreement is ending and Air Tran’s flights are still undersold, the airline is pulling the plug on the service.  Three other airports will also see Air Tran jets disappear from their runways.
