PROTESTERS ATTEND HEARING ON B.L. ENGLAND PLANT PERMIT

More than 100 people showed up Tuesday night for the public hearing on whether or not to renew the operating permit for the B.L. England Generating Station in Upper Township. The Department of Environmental Protection has not set a date for their decision on the renewal of the plant’s five-year permit. The N.J. Board of Public Utilities has approved the plant converting to natural gas, but faces a lawsuit by the Sierra Club.
