PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE DISMISSES UP TO 30 CASES FROM LOWER POLICE

The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office announced that up to 30 arrests are being dismissed from the Lower Township Police Department. These cases all involved Detective Chris Lambert and his use of confidential informants that the Prosecutor’s office says was not documented properly. An investigation is on-going into the matter. The press release stated that a review by Township Council into the matter noted 12 criminal cases from 2007 that had similar problems. The Prosecutor’s office is going to place an officer to the Lower Township Police force until the investigation is complete. To this point, no criminal charges have been found. Lambert has been reassigned within the department in the meantime.
