A Bridgeton man tried to hide heroin from police unsuccessfully. Tony Lee Slater had a contempt of court warrant that was being served on him. He tried to hand over some money and a box of cigarettes to a friend, but police found multiple bags of heroin inside of the box. Slater was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and other related charges. Bail was set at $21,000.
