POLICE CATCH MAN THAT ASSAULTS AND RUNS

A Wildwood Crest man was arrested for an assault that took place at an area bar on Friday night. Wildwood Police say that Matthew Farmer, of Wildwood Crest, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and leaving a person whom he had injured at a scene, knowing that the person was physically helpless. The report by police says that Farmer knocked 49-year-old Scott Long, of Wildwood Crest unconscious and then continued to punch him. Farmer was placed in the Cape May County Jail on $50,000 bail. Long suffered head, elbow, and leg injuries. He was treated at the Cape Regional Medical Center and has since been released.
