PIERSON WINS PRIMARY IN UPPER TOWNSHIP

A contested primary in Upper Township went the way of Jeff Pierson. He was one of two running for Upper Township Committee in a primary on Tuesday. Jeffrey Pierson faced Orvis Leopardi for the right to run as a republican in the November general election. The seat is currently held by Tony Inserra, who has decided not to run for re-election this year. Pierson retired from the United States Army in 2003, serving as a brigadier general.
