ONLY SEAGULLS FOUND GUILTY DURING OCEAN CITY GULL-FEEDING CRACKDOWN

Ocean City officials began the summer by issuing a public notice that feeding of seagulls would not be tolerated. Looking back at the season, Ocean City Police issued no tickets for gull-feeding, a violation that carried a $500 fine and the threat of up to 90 days in jail. Instead, what police observed was the seagulls stealing food that was not offered to them. Officials said the prohibition on gull-feeding was very well received by visitors and residents alike.
