OCEAN FEEL CHILLY? IT’S NOT A COINCIDENCE

If you have taken a dip in the Atlantic Ocean in the last few days, you may be feeling toe curling cold water.  The Star Ledger reports that due to a southerly wind that has been persistent, ocean water temperatures have fallen from the 70s to the 50 this week.  The condition is known as upwelling, and brings colder ocean water to the surface.  The upwelling lasts for only a few days before more normal water temperatures return.
