NO CHARGES TO BE FILED IN FATAL SHOOTING BY BRIDGETON POLICE

No federal charges will be brought against the Bridgeton police officer who shot and killed a 36 year-old man during a traffic stop on Dec. 30th, 2014. On Monday the U.S. Attorney’s office said there was “insufficient evidence to pursue charges” against the officer who shot Jerame Reid, a passenger in a car that allegedly ran a stop sign and was stopped by Bridgeton police. The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office had previously investigated the shooting and a grand jury chose not to indict the officers.
