A new agreement has been reached by Gov. Chris Christie and the top two Democrats in Trenton. Senate President Steven Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Shelia Oliver have both backed legislation to change the pension and health benefits system. The Assembly and Senate will vote on the bills next week. The main changes include public workers paying more towards their pensions and health benefits and to have their retirement age moved back. The agreement is expected to bring in $300 million in savings during the next fiscal year.
