NEW LAW MAY REQUIRE INFORMATION ON WHERE CATS, DOGS COME FROM

A new bill making its way through Trenton would require pet stores to disclose the exact name and location of where dogs and cats that are for sale came from.  The new bill cleared a Senate committee on Monday and it would require mandatory disclosure on an animal’s past, and if the animal was raised in a so-called puppy mill.  Pet shops who failed to disclose that information would be subject to a $500 fine per each offense.
