Experts do not believe New Jersey will have a busy hurricane season this year. The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration released its hurricane forecast and it calls for hurricane activity to be below normal in 2014. Cooler temperatures along the surface of the Atlantic Ocean is one of the factors keeping the number of hurricanes down this year. Eight to 13 named tropical storms are predicted, with only three to six hurricanes.
