NEW JERSEY EXPECTED TO ADOPT PARCC EXAMS AS GRADUATION REQUIREMENT

NJ.com reports that the New Jersey State Board of Education is expected to adopt the PARCC exams as the sole test for earning a high school diploma. This year’s eighth grade class would thereby be required to eventually pass both the Algebra I and 10th-grade English tests from the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers in order to receive their diplomas. The proposal is opposed by many local school boards, parents and the NJEA.
