NEW JERSEY COP IS KILLED IN DUI ACCIDENT ON PARKWAY

A 32 year old police officer from Ocean Gate has lost his life in a drunk driving accident on the Garden State Parkway.  State Police say Officer Jason Marles was killed early thursday morning after a drunk driver crashes into Marles’ car just minutes after Marles was off duty from a drunk driving patrol.  Marles’ 1995 Jeep Cherokee was heading northbound on the Parkway at milepost 83 in Toms River when his vehicle was rear ended by another car.  That driver has been identified as 31 year old Erick P. Uzcategui of Toms River.  He’s been charged with vehicular homicide and drunk driving.  Uzcategui was taken tot he Ocean County Jail, held on $250,000 cash bail.
