NEW BRIDGE IN DESIGN FOR ROUTE 50

The Route 50 bridge connecting Atlantic County and Upper Township is going to be replaced. The New Jersey Department of Transportation is working on plans to replace the existing bridge with a new one. Upper Township officials have been working for years to get the necessary changes made at that crossing. DOT officials tell Coastal Broadcasting that work is in the design phase and construction could begin by 2012. Construction will take about two years, once it starts.
