NEW BILL HELPS NEW JERSEYANS FACING FORECLOSURE

ForeclosureA new pilot program is being developed in New Jersey that will help residents who face foreclosure.  The bill would allow homeowners to reduce the principal on the loan; in return, the state would have shares of equity in the property that would be paid when the home is sold or after the mortgage is paid off.  It  cleared a key Assembly committee on Friday.
