MURPHY PUTS PEN TO PAPER, ELIMINATES CERTAIN TAX ON SHORE RENTALS

Governor Phil Murphy put pen to paper Friday and signed a new law that eliminates a tax on short term rentals at the Jersey Shore.  A special tax has been eliminated on short term Jersey Shore rentals that are actually rented by the owner of the properties.  The tax will only be charged if the rental occurs through the open marketplace, or online.
