MURPHY PRESENTS NEW BUDGET, HIGHER SPENDING, HIGHER TAXES

To no one’s surprise, higher spending and higher taxes are all part of Governor Phil Murphy’s new state budget.  The $37.4 billion budget is a whopping $2.7 billion higher than last year’s budget and calls for a one percent increase in the sales tax, putting that tax back to seven percent.  He also wants higher minimum wages paid to workers, and wants eventually to make all community colleges tuition-free to state residents.
