MORNING EARTHQUAKE? OFFICIALS SAY NO, POSSIBLE SONIC BOOM

0

Residents of South Jersey from Cape May to Camden Counties reported an audible boom and felt shaking and rumbling at about 10:30am Wednesday morning. The United States Geological Survey had no report of disturbances on its earthquake tracker, and officials at Langley Air Force Base and McGuire/Ft. Dix did not confirm any activity from their fleets. So for now, the only available explanation is a sonic boom amplified by an atmospheric inversion.
