MINIMUM WAGE DISCUSSION TO GET CHRISTIE’S EAR

Local income residents in the state may get some good news in the near future. Gov. Chris Christie said he would consider a proposal by Assembly Speaker Shelia Oliver to raise the minimum wage in the state. The current minimum wage is $7.25, but Oliver would like to increase it by $1.25 per hour. Christie expressed some concerns about how a change might stunt economic growth, but expressed an interest to listen.
