Middle Township has begun the demolition of abandoned, neglected properties in the community. This is being initiated to address the safety hazard it brings. The first building demolition occurred last week at 312 Linden Lane. The abandoned house was taken down so it would not attract children or other individuals who could put themselves and the neighborhood in harm’s way. After every effort is made to negotiate with the property owner, Middle Township places a lien on the property and begins the demolition process. It is estimated that this initial funding will afford the Township the ability to demolish at least ten structures in Middle Township.
