MIDDLE TOWNSHIP GETS LAND BACK FROM $6.5 MILLION SALE

Middle Township is getting back a portion of land that was sold for over $6 million at one time. Committee approved taking back a piece of land that was sold to Frank Carpino. He could afford to make the final payments on the land and the township is taking it back. A second owner, Thomas Tower owns portions of the land as well, which means that the township and Tower need to work out an arrangement in order for either one to see full value of the land. It was initially supposed to be an affordable housing complex. Committeeman Dan Lockwood told Coastal Broadcasting that the township will likely look in this direction as well.
