MENENDEZ TALKS IN FAVOR OF PRESIDENT’S JOB BILL

US Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) spoke on the Senate floor this week to call for support of legislation to help Americans get back to work and boost the nation’s competitiveness by investing in our country’s aging transportation infrastructure. The Rebuild America Jobs infrastructure bill  would provide $50 billion in immediate investments to improve roads, bridges, rails, and aviation; support construction jobs; and create a new “infrastructure bank” to fund future projects.   Menendez addressed Republicans’ refusal to put aside political posturing and practice good governance on behalf of all Americans, and the negative impact this will have in America’s ability to compete and continue leading in the 21st century global economy.   The NJ Senator also spoke about the importance of this piece of legislation for key infrastructure projects in New Jersey, the security of local communities, and to help New Jerseyans get back to work.
