A high ranking federal official has come out against the potential changes to health benefits and pensions in New Jersey. U.S. Senator Robert Menendez spoke out on Thursday saying he thought the cuts were a bad idea, since public employees did not create the financial problems that are plaguing the state. Menendez said the issues should be collectively bargained and that public workers were willing to compromise.
