MENENDEZ: COSTS TOO HIGH FOR SANDY ROAD REPAIRS

New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez is calling for a federal investigation into the costs paid to repair roadways in the State following Hurricane Sandy.  Menendez says the price tag is about $26 million per mile to repair roads washed out from the storm, and that’s much too high.  Repair costs on Route 35 alone in central New Jersey ran $76 million over budget.
