MAYOR DELIVERS BUDGET ADDRESS IN OCEAN CITY

Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian gave his 2013 budget address to City Council on Thursday. The new budget proposed by the mayor calls for an increase in the tax levy of one percent. The mayor outlined a number of lessons learned by the resort from the effects of Superstorm Sandy. Gillian stated that the most aggressive capital plan in the city’s history was developed to improve the resort’s infrastructure. The mayor said the city’s debt was being restructured to take advantage of market conditions to save taxpayers money over the long term.
