MANY SHOW UP TO SUPPORT NOT LAYING OFF POLICE OFFICERS IN MILLVILLE

A plan is on the table to lay off 10 workers from the Millville Police Department, including nine officers. A large group of people from the community and fellow officers came to a city commission meeting in Millville to speak against this plan. The commission does not want to increase taxes and is looking at across the board cuts to ensure there is no increase. The official notices were sent out last week to officers in the community. Commission said there are some residents willing to take a tax increase to keep the officers working, but many as well who do not want to see taxes go up at all.
