The former head of the Turnpike Authority passed away over the weekend. Edward Gross was the executive director when the authority brought the E-Z Pass system into the state back in 2000. Gross was also blamed for his dealings with the contract, which came in very costly for the state. In total, he served in that office from 1995 to 2002. Gross suffered a massive heart attack at the age of 71.
