A Morris County accountant pleaded guilty to charges of attempted luring and attempted endangering this morning in connection with online chats with persons whom the defendant believed were two girls, ages 13 and 14, but who were in fact undercover officers, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel stated.

On June 14, Stephen Bubniak, 56, of Florham Park, was indicted on 13 counts, including attempted luring, attempted sexual assault, attempted criminal sexual contact, and 10 counts of attempted endangering. In court today, Bubniak pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted luring and third-degree attempted endangering, according to Assistant Prosecutor Janet Gravitz, who represented the State.

Bubniak is scheduled to be sentenced on January 13, 2012 by Superior Court Judge Bernard E. DeLury. According to the terms of the plea agreement placed before the Court, Bubniak faces a five-year term in state prison.
